he Estreito Social Investment Program (ISE) was carried out in partnership with CESTE, aiming to apply R$ 32 million in BNDES resources to promote improvements in education, health, sanitation, and socio-economic development.
The creation of the Social Responsibility Office in Carolina (MA) allowed for the articulation of 120 leaders and public and private institutions in the implementation of 136 projects focused on health, education, sanitation, economic and social development, and government infrastructure.
Results:
- 136 projects implemented and 111 institutions with strengthened capacities;
- 16 structuring partners and 11 Municipal Council Networks formed (Guardianship, Elderly, Social Assistance, Rights of Children and Adolescents, and Rights Councils);
- 12 Municipal Health Councils strengthened;
- Creation of 59 rural libraries and fishermen’s colony libraries, and two adult literacy classes;
- Organization of agro-extractive and beekeeping productive arrangements, generating work and income for associates;
- Structuring and decentralization of the municipal departments of Education, Health, and Agriculture;
- An additional R$ 53 million mobilized, totaling R$ 85 million invested, benefiting over 148,000 people in the territory.
